Reducing scars
Our skin is our largest organ and protects us from external infections. No matter how well we try to protect our skin, sometimes things happen or there are factors that cause skin damage. Such an experience can leave behind scars.
There are various reasons why someone may have scars, including on the face. Often, scars are the result of (severe) acne. Sometimes, someone – often due to stress – has developed the habit of scratching their face (“skin picking”), and sometimes scars are caused by surgery or an accident. Whatever the cause of the scars, you likely want to get rid of them or at least make them less visible.
Treating scars
During a consultation with Huidkliniek Parkstad, we will determine your type of scar and discuss a suitable treatment plan with you. All options and any associated costs will be explained, along with the expected results.
Scar treatment may involve a laser or plasma procedure, often combined with a fruit acid peel and/or microneedling. Laser treatment can reduce redness in a scar or smooth out scar tissue. Nitrogen plasma targets the entire skin architecture, reducing redness, itching, and scar thickness. The treatment is completed with appropriate aftercare and home care instructions.
