What is plasma
Plasma treats the entire skin architecture without creating a wound. This makes nitrogen plasma treatment particularly suitable for all kinds of skin improvement.
Plasma is created when medical nitrogen is combined with high-frequency radio energy. Plasma feels pleasantly warm and this thermal effect penetrates deep into the skin layers, without damaging the top layer. The heat effect renews the skin from the deeper layers. Collagen is produced again, which restores volume and firmness. The skin also appears clearer, as excess pigmentation is removed. Scars will fade, just like redness or small spots. NeoGen nitrogen plasma
It’s important to know the difference between the commonly known “plasma pen” and medical nitrogen plasma. NeoGen’s medical nitrogen plasma leaves the skin completely intact and is non-invasive. This means there’s no risk of infection, bacterial inflammation or hyperpigmentation.
In addition, this method works from the deeper skin layers, resulting in a long-term rejuvenation of cellular processes. A treatment with NeoGen nitrogen plasma gives you benefits that last for years and helps maintain a youthful appearance.
What does plasma do
The NeoGen plasma treatment can be done as an intensive or mild treatment. A key difference compared to laser treatments is that plasma improves the entire skin structure.
Depending on the intensity, plasma is used for treating fine lines, a gentle eyelid lift or acne scars, but also for removing actinic keratosis, viral papillomas and superficial pigment spots.
A unique treatment is that for active acne or classic melasma. In these cases, nitrogen plasma is used at low intensity to increase the skin’s absorption capacity. This allows applied products or medication to work deeper in the skin. We call this treatment ‘drug delivery’ because it enhances the skin’s uptake of active ingredients.

For optimal results, the skin is usually prepped in advance. This also shortens and eases the recovery period.
The plasma treatment is generally well tolerated without local anaesthesia. If you’re nervous, you may take a paracetamol (and nothing else) one hour before the treatment. If desired, you can also discuss the use of numbing cream or ointment with our specialist.
As advised by our skin therapist, you’ve already prepped your skin at home. At the clinic, your skin will be thoroughly cleansed before the treatment starts. The treatment concludes with proper aftercare and at-home instructions.
