In fact, anyone can open a practice tomorrow without diplomas or the right knowledge. There are even suppliers in the Netherlands who sell unsafe, often Chinese equipment, such as lasers, to people without the required training. In our area, there are already examples of this. Without knowledge or safe equipment, this can have serious consequences, such as burns to the skin or complications after treatments like peels, microneedling, plasma, and other techniques that work deep within the skin. The same applies to the administration of fillers or Botox by individuals who are not doctors, which is prohibited, but unfortunately still happens.

Fortunately, the new MDR legislation offers protection, as it stipulates that only medically certified equipment with a CE certificate may be used. This equipment not only has the right certification but is also clinically supported. This ensures that consumers are treated safely and that the equipment actually delivers on its promises, meaning results are almost always guaranteed. In addition, this type of equipment must be recertified and inspected annually by a recognized company. Such equipment is therefore supplied only to qualified professionals who receive regular further training.

With a special vascular handpiece, we can also reduce or even remove blood vessels.

In addition, we have a nitrogen plasma device from the brand NeoGen, an innovation we are very excited about. This device significantly reduces and softens pigmentation spots, skin laxity, wrinkles, scars, and enlarged pores. It can even be used for a non-surgical eyelid correction.
